In simurgh’s land
DE Der Iran ist ein Land der Berge. Nomaden, Bergler, Bergsteigende sind alle Teil dieses bergverbundenen Volkes. Bis hin zum Vogel Simurgh, der laut persischer Mythologie im Gebirge wohnt. Über mehrere Jahre hinweg verbrachte Caroline Fink insgesamt rund drei Monate in den Gebirgsregionen des Iran und in Teheran. Dank der engen Verbindung zur lokalen Berg-Community erhielt sie einen vielschichtigen Einblick in die tief verwurzelte Bergkultur Persiens.
EN Iran is a land of mountains. Nomads, mountain people, and climbers are all part of a people deeply connected to the mountains – right up to the mythical Simurgh, the legendary bird of Persian mythology said to reside behind the mountain valleys. Over the course of several years, Caroline Fink spent a total of around three months in Iran’s mountainous regions and in Tehran. Thanks to her close ties with the local mountain community, she gained deep and multifaceted insight into the country’s rich and deeply rooted mountain culture.
